Brooks
What feels good on your feet? I've always loved being barefoot any time of year, indoors and certainly outdoors, depending on the surface below my feet.
My Teva sandals were my go to when I had to wear something, then, unfortunately, I traded them with someone. It would be great to get a new pair for this coming season. It feels best when my feet can breathe.
My podiatrist has insisted I get a pair of Brooks walking shoes and *always* wear them, no matter what. My Brooks are nice, and I get compliments on them; however, I do not like them. They feel "heavy" compared to barefoot or sandals and they lock in and constrict my feet, but I do wear them, just not *always*.
Never before have I worn slippers. Right below my new first floor apartment is a"Criminal Minds" looking basement with crumbly, concrete walls and probably no insulation. I have to wear a coat when I venture down there, but never will I go at night. In the apartment, the floors are like ice, so I wear not only my new kitty cat slippers but also socks. Socks are not my favorite either, but it is better than freezing feet.
All this to say that we adapt. We change. We grow in our habits and into new habits. Yet it is so comforting, reassuring, and solid when some things stay the same! "Jesus Christ, the same, yesterday, today and forever." Hebrews 13:8.
