Old Men

Old men.  Who are the old men in your life?  And how old do they have to be to be considered old men?  There are some men that I consider “older” at my church and some that are friends and  colleagues.

There is a blessing that says:

“See that you be at peace among yourselves, my children,

and love one another.

Follow the example of good men of old….”

Good men of old.

Maybe these men the blessing speaks of were not old but of old.  They were good men though.  Possibly Moses, Aaron, my friend Tom Orr’s father, and older men that are good that I greatly respect like Pastor Bill Novak and Pastor Dick Borrud pictured below.  It’s something to contemplate.  Who are these men?  What makes them good?  How do I follow their example?  I have been working on that following part for some time and continuing to do so.  Who is it in your life that you consider “good men of old?”
