Cats, I believe, like warmth. The “Little Girl Kitty” curls up in my comforter so I leave the bed unmade just for her. :-) If she is not there she is perched on the modem claiming all it’s warmth. Last Friday I had to call my internet provider because I couldn’t get on. My fear was that the cat’s fur had clogged things up; however, I just had to restart it.
Many people like warmth, too. They long for summer during the cold winter months that I enjoy. I must say I do enjoy warm things: warm bread, the warm color of purple toward the maroon end of the spectrum, warm thoughts, warm people. Do you ever say something like: “That warms my heart?” Kind actions, loving words, and peaceful thoughts warm my heart as well as my two cats.
I read in Romans from The Message about God and warmth: “God wants the combination of his steady, constant calling and warm, personal counsel in Scripture to come to characterize us, keeping us alert for whatever he will do next. May our dependably steady and warmly personal God develop maturity in you so that you get along with each other as well as Jesus gets along with us all.”
Warmly personal God. I like that. Fits my image of God perfectly. May you feel that warm God in your life today and all days and keep alert for whatever God will do next.
