A Generous Spirit & Laugh

My oldest son Jason was born 35 years ago today on a Monday very early in the morning.  The poem states that Monday’s child is fair of face, and he was/is.  So hard to believe it was 35  years ago.

In the Bible Jason is mentioned in Acts 17.  It says that “Jason has welcomed them into his home."  My Jason is a very welcoming person.  He is someone I admire for his hospitality - always making people feel comfortable and at home with his generous spirit and laugh.  He has a deep belly laugh.  It’s hard not to laugh when he laughs.

May we all be welcoming.  Inviting others into our homes to get to know them and build a relationship with them.  We cannot hope to share God’s love with them if we do not genuinely and authentically know them and care about them.  And, we may just be surprised.  They may be the one who shares God’s love with us.  We are all in this world together.  Let’s get to know those God has placed near to us in our neighborhood.

Happy Birthday, Jason.  Thanks for loving me and showing me God’s grace over and over again during these past 35 years and sharing that with so many others.  I love you too much!  *smile*
