Gone Fishin’
What are we to do with all the restrictions during this virus crisis? On my walk past all the closed restaurants downtown, most have had a nicely typed message that due to Governor Holcomb’s order, and to be socially responsible, they were closed.
One business owner, however, let everyone know what we should be doing at this time: the Mass Ave restaurant, 9 Irish Brothers, taped a handwritten sign to their door. It is pictured here: "Gone Fishing"
Gone Fishing? The internet, which as we all know is never wrong, right, says this phrase means: "If someone has
gone fishing
they are not very aware of what is happening around them. The idea is that the person is there but their mind isn’t.“ What a great idea!
Although we need to be aware, I believe we also all need to be "Gone Fishing” more, letting our mind focus on other things, relaxing things like actually going fishing. Find some space to relax, to check out, and get away from all the COVID-19 facts for a while.
In Mark 6: 31 - “Jesus says to his disciples: 'Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.‘”
Read that again inserting your name: Jesus says to his disciple Hope: "Come with me by yourself to a quiet place and get some rest.”
Rest brings hope.
