Ugly Feet - Really??
Why feet? On my Facebook page I’m posting fun pictures of my feet as I travel on vacation, and I add a Bible verse. It is not because I consider my feet so amazing. It is because I am on a journey. It is because I have been taken with Exodus 3: 5 since my early days at Lee Valley Ranch in Custer, SD, and morning solitude time.
Most of my life I was told I had ugly feet which I kept hidden in the cheap, white tennis shoes from Kresge’s/KMart. Then one day at Lee Valley, Shannon and Anna gave many of us pedicures. It was difficult to unveil my feet, but it felt so good. Then that weekend Shannon and I were in Hill City, SD, doing our laundry, and she convinced me to buy sandals. Never before had I owned or worn sandals. Flip flops only for the beach at my grandmother’s cottage, but never sandals. I bit the bullet and bought them and wore them always until I let a friend use them and that is a whole different Notes of Hope.
Anyway, getting back to why feet, I am always honored to walk where other people walked and consider it holy ground. Often I’m filled with awe when I think where my feet have taken me over the years. What a journey of life with a good and extremely gracious God and people who propel me forward. Forward is important.
So this journey will feature my feet. Not because I think they are “all that”, but because it’s fun, it’s holy ground others have walked upon that I get the privilege of walking upon as well, and why not! *smile* Keep on walking and knowing how amazing your feet are and your journey because someone declared you and your path holy many, many years ago.
